05 — Validation and characterisation

The datasheet says one thing. The test bench measures real performance.

We define success criteria before the first prototype, then execute the campaigns to certify the parameters of your specification or datasheet.

  • Test plans defined from the design phase, aligned on your target performance
  • Campaigns executed on our own equipment or in a specialised partner lab
  • Certified datasheet, calibrated model, traceable report, validated system requirements

Our approach

Not just measuring — understanding the system, identifying its parameters, delivering defensible results.

Defined by system requirements Tests and acceptance criteria are defined with you, from the objectives and requirements of your system. Each measurement campaign is then executed and rigorously analysed, with full traceability of results.
The actuator is tested with its electronics and control We do not test the actuator in isolation. The complete assembly: actuator + control board + algorithm is validated together, under conditions representative of the real system.
Parameter identification and calibrated models The bench also serves to identify actuator parameters (resistance, inductance, losses, mechanical constant…) and to build models of your subsystems.
Expert deliverables, not raw curves Certified datasheet, calibrated model, traceable report, reproducible procedure. You leave with a document you can defend in a design review or hand to your client.

How it works

01

Brief and scoping

You describe your system, target performance and bench constraints. We define the scope together: quantities to measure, acceptance criteria, environmental conditions.

02

Test plan and execution

We formalise the test plan before any handling. Campaigns are executed on our own equipment or in a partner lab depending on the required quantities.

03

Report and deliverables

Results plotted, margins measured, parameters certified. You receive a deliverable suited to your use: characterisation report, filled-in datasheet, calibrated model, raw data — ready to sign or integrate.

Our measurement means

Own equipment

Responsiveness and cost control

Our in-house characterisation bench covers common electromagnetic quantities: electrical measurements, motor characterisation, control law optimisation, closed-loop actuator testing.

Labs and partners

Specialised quantities without compromise

For measurements requiring heavy or specialised equipment — vibration, acoustic, dimensional, balancing — we mobilise a network of specialised laboratories. You benefit from the capability without managing the relationships.

In which situations do you call on us?

Three typical situations where we intervene.

Development & characterisation

You need certified measurements on a prototype or off-the-shelf component

Your simulations are promising or your supplier announces performance figures. You need measured, traceable and defensible data to validate your prototype, build a calibrated model, or verify that a purchased component truly meets your system requirements.

→ Measurement campaign + certified datasheet or calibrated model

Control algorithm validation

Your algorithm works in simulation. You want to know if it holds on the real system.

Simulation performance does not guarantee bench behaviour. We test your control algorithm in closed loop on the real actuator and optimise its performance: dynamics, trajectory tracking, disturbance rejection, robustness.

→ Real closed-loop test + deviation analysis report

Diagnosis & independent expertise

An unexplained behaviour, performance drift, or supplier datasheet to verify

Your actuator is behaving abnormally, its performance has drifted in production, or you have doubts about data announced by a supplier. We bring measured expertise, a clear, neutral and documented diagnosis to identify the cause or certify declared performance.

→ Independent expertise report, traceable measurements, recommendations
